Mikro-Gen

Not to sound dismissive but I've gone backwards and forwards several times on whether to cover Mikro-Gen. They are an old company and similar in many ways to others I've already written about; like Bug-Byte, Quicksilva, dk'tronics,Automata, Hewson Consultants, Artic, J.K. Greye and so on, and so on. I have two main questions. One, what can I say that makes this article different? Two, is it wise to reveal these doubts in the introduction when I should be using it to lure people in?

Since the 48K Spectrum was launched the opportunities it offered has attracted peripheral manufacturers throughout the world.

One of these manufacturers was bound to emerge as the "brand leader" and in the case of the Spectrum this turned out to be DK'tronics. The company is based in Saffron Walden in Essex and proudly boasts a history dating back to the ZX80. All the company's products are manufactured in England at their own factory and they have now established themselves as world leaders, exporting to over 30 countries!

Dalali Software

You've never heard of Dalali Software? Join the club. I hadn't and it turned out I'd played a couple of their games. I stumbled across the name while writing about Micromega. I had visited lemon64.com to try and learn something about Jinn Genie, Micromega's sole Commodore 64 release, and learned it was written by Dalali Software. The name cropped up again a few weeks later when I was writing about Mirrorsoft. Then I learned they were also responsible for Front Runner's version of Boulderdash. This was my cue to leap into action and do nothing for a couple of years. I like obscure but apparently this was a level of obscure too deep for me. And so Dalali hung around on my to-do list without ever rising to the top.
